The Dream And The Rebirth It seems like Easter was last week -- it was, but we're in a season now in the church calendar that's called Eastertide -- a season to keep with us throughout the year. Easter Service 2011 What an awesome day and an experience for all. This day is miraculous and made of pure love. Do you recognize the awesome amount of love that Jesus Christ had for us for him to do what he did for each and every one of us? He didn't do it to leave anyone out. He did it so God's grace is freely given. Every lash of the whip took skin from Jesus' -- this wasn't like your mommas belt to someone's butt. Look And Believe -- The Transfiguration In all three accounts of the transfiguration of Jesus Christ, we are given three witnesses and they were historically there. They stood as human witnesses to the glory of our savior. The word transfigured is an interesting word -- the Greek word is "metamorpha" which means to transition to something else and that's what Jesus did in front of three earthly witnesses. Can You Do That? To God be the glory! How many of us has said the words, "I can't do that." How many of us have a "flight" response to good news? We should remember that God gives His love to all people. Are you up to the job of following Christ? When we open our minds and hearts to what God is saying, then we believe and we know that Jesus is real. It isn't about running away or shedding responsibilities, it's about reaching out and being the instruments that we are called to be and do the job that Jesus gave the disciples. A Blessed Easter And A Folded Cloth The facecloth, which had been on his head was not with the linen wrappings, but folded in a place by itself. Now, the stone had been rolled away -- a heavy stone that would take strength. The cloth was folded. The face cloth was not thrown aside like the rest, but folded and laid in it's place. An entire verse in the Bible is dedicated to this -- is it important? Yes, there's something different there that we should pay attention too. The fact that this was folded and placed in a place, we are shown that there was unfinished business -- there is still work in this world we have to do; just as in Jesus' time, he was unfinished. Are You Jesus? One day there was a mother and daughter traveling home from church and the daughter said, "I'm puzzled at what the pastor said?". The mother, with a puzzled look, asked her young daughter, "What?", to which the daughter replied, "...well, he said that God is bigger than we are -- he said that God is so big that He can hold the world in his hand. Is that true?" The mother, with a great smile said, "Yes, that's true honey." The daughter with even more excitement said, "...but mommy, he also said that God comes to live inside of us -- that when we except Jesus as our savior, God builds a temple inside of us, how does that work? If God is bigger than we are and He lives inside of us, wouldn't He show through!". Jesus should show in everything we do, so be passionate and let Jesus show in and through you. No matter what the challenge and no matter how the feeling, we should be beaming Jesus. Let the message excite you -- BE PASSIONATE! Know what God is doing in your heart and share it with others -- where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty and truth. We are all directed to be more like Jesus in every aspect in our lives. We Are A Prodigal People, But God Is A Prodigal Father God's love will never let you down. Open your eyes and open your ears and you will see the truth. If you have given up and if you can't see God in your life, then you should get down on your knees and pray -- pray to let God in. What Are You Giving Up? So many people this time of the year suddenly feel like there has to be a sacrifice -- a way to get closer to God -- something that you have to do to prove that you are a Christian -- chocolate, soda pop, facebook? Hm, why not give away the roadblocks that keep you from worshiping God -- give away the blocks that keep you from believing in Jesus and the bars that keep you from sharing Christ with someone else. Why Do You Come To Worship? Worship is not an escape from reality. A lot of people come on Sundays and receive the message -- feeling really good while they're at the church, but they don't take that spirit with them when they leave -- and then they wonder why the whole week is a struggle. True worship focuses on God -- beginning with an awareness of God -- His holiness and God's brightness within. God isn't just a God that's way out, but a God who's love expands and encompasses all. Climbing Into God We need to remember to give God the glory -- to give God the praise, and sometimes that means climbing into God, grabbing hold with all we are -- all our passion and encompassing God's love. We need to pray with such passion and earnest devotion that we know the answer is coming and that God will answer in all of His glory. There is a Healer in the house and it is the God of gods. Whatever your pain is, whatever your going through, whatever you don't understand, put it at God's feet and leave it there because God is in control and God will take care of it.
